A few days ago I received an email from Career Junction. You would swear they know how depressed and demotivated I am at this point in my life with all the uncertainties I am facing. The email went like this:
“Hi Ramadimetja, It’s December 1941.
Sixty-something Harland David Sanders is forced to close down his once prosperous chicken business.
He’s broke, with nothing but a failed business venture and a secret recipe for fried chicken to his name. So what does he do? He takes action. Travelling across the states, Sanders attempts to convince restaurant owners to buy his original recipe in exchange for a royalty payment. He’s rejected over 1000 times.
Today, KFC is the world’s second largest restaurant chain, with over 18,875 outlets worldwide. All because Colonel Sanders didn’t quit, but persisted. The truth is, Ramadimetja, the grass is greener where you water it.”
Of course I was motivated for that few hours we all are after having read or heard a motivational piece. Now I’m back to reality. I realized I don’t have a prosperous chicken business and don’t have 60 years of experience in life.
However, there are certain people, like our CHANGE-DRIVERS, who are more relatable. They are children of the soil and are still working hard to prosper. Motivations from people like them last for much longer because you see their hustle with your naked eye everyday.
So, I asked them all to write motivational pieces and take a picture wearing the CHANGEHOLIC t-shirt currently selling for R200 each.
First up is Voro the Virus. Here is his unedited piece:
Voro
“Stay in the Lord and believe in him. He is gonna answer your prayers. I wanna say thank you Lord for the blessing you are pouring in my life and I will never leave you cos you taught me that being under your wings its best after most of the people turn against me but you being there for me.
My friends let’s not lose hope in whatever you believe in. I had vision 15 years ago but now I see the light of it. As Mabuza always say “One dot at a time”.
God is good, all the time. Don’t lose hope my friend. Your time is coming and when it arrives you will be well prepared to conquer the world and drive change wherever you are.
Dreams do come true, hlala ethembeni and keep on knocking.
I will like to leave you with this script: Phillipians Chapter 2 Verse 1-11. It talks about Christ’s Humility and Greatness.
You can not give without loving, but you can love without giving.”
Do you change-driver. Depression is for the confused. Work hard samma.
